William Michael “Mike” Henry was born on August 28, 1954 in Casper, Wyoming to Patricia B. Henry and William “Bill” Henry Jr. He lived in Casper during his early school years and graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 1972. He went on to Casper College and graduated with a degree in 1974. While at Casper College he won the Outstanding Ag Student award. He headed down to the University of Wyoming, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1976. It was there that he met his wife, Susan, and was married on June 12, 1976. Mike’s life was spent doing what he liked best, ranching and working with horses on his ranch north of Douglas.

The greatest joys of his life were his children, Laurel, Garrett and Blake. He was a wonderful father who enjoyed being with his children. Mike also loved his friends, as each and everyone meant a great deal to him. He appreciated all the people that surrounded him during his life.

Mike enjoyed being a rancher and was proud of his Black Angus cows. He was meant to be a rancher, and he loved the country life. Mike also enjoyed calf roping when he was younger and team roping as he got older. He was a member of the PRCA, and very proud of that membership. He loved to ride good horses and started 88 Ranch Performance Horses which became one of his pride and joys. He established, 88 Ranch Outfitters, and enjoyed the hunters and the hunting. Mike enjoyed life to fullest; being with his family, ranching, being a cowboy and hunting were his favorite activities.

No doubt Mike would enjoy watching his horses succeed in the arena and watching the joy the 88 horses have brought to his family and clients.  His goal of having his family and friends riding good horses with a top hat brand has became a reality.  Good ride cowboy, good ride.
