Fannie Sperry Makes Her Mark at the Old West Rope Horse Futurity!

Heber City, Utah – June 2025Fannie Sperry, a 2021 palomino mare by Casino Heist and out of Chicks Nita Dash (by First Down Dash), made a powerful debut at the Old West Rope Horse Futurity in Utah. Ridden by Kaden Richard, “Elizabeth” delivered a standout performance across all rounds of competition—securing her place among the top young rope horses in the country.

Bred, raised, and started right here at 88 Ranch, Fannie Sperry began her foundation under trainer Lucas Talbott. She was then put through the paces during last fall’s ranch work in the mountains. From there, she was sent to Arizona to begin her roping career with Kaden. The results of that partnership speak for themselves.

In Round 1, she marked a strong 228.73, followed by a 227.65 in Round 2 and 227.88 in Round 3. Her 684.26 total made her 6th high call heading into the finals. In the championship round, Elizabeth stayed consistent under pressure and marked a 228.30, bringing her final composite score to 912.56, which earned her a 5th place overall finish and a paycheck of $12,768.

A huge thank you to Kaden for his dedication, time, and horsemanship in preparing Elizabeth for her futurity debut.

Fannie Sperry is just getting started and we couldn’t be prouder to have her carrying the 88 Ranch brand into the spotlight.
